Are You Addicted to Stress?

It's no secret we're all living in the fast lane these days, and stress? Well, it's pretty much a constant companion (And not necessarily a good one). Today's question… Are you actually addicted to it?

First off, If you live in a constant state of emotional overstimulation, you're not alone. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), a whopping 75% of adults say they grapple with stress like it's the latest trend. In fact, stress has become a part of our daily lifestyle, and some of us might not even realize it.

When you're stressed, your body pumps out the cortisol. And guess what? Some folks get hooked on this hormone roller coaster. Stress becomes such a part of their daily life they actively seek out stress just to keep the adrenaline flow.

And here's the kicker: some folks think stress makes them more productive. However, studies from Stanford University beg to differ. They found high-stress levels tank productivity. The real bummer is that chronic stress creates major health issues like heart disease, obesity, and depression.

So if you can't step away from work, you scroll through social media while sitting in front of the TV, or you hang out with people that cause drama. STOP. Yep, I said it. Go cold turkey. Instead, be mindful of your habits, remove yourself from situations, and put your phone down in the evenings to unwind.

I mean, yeah, it's cool to be productive, but productivity and stress are two different things. You, and only you, have the power to break free and live a healthier, happier life. Stress doesn't have to be your BFF; kick it to the curb! 🚀😊
